Balm for the Wounded. H-r M-j-esty. “Poor little man. Dd he have a nasty tumble? Here’s something to make him all right again!” Punch 23[?] June 1859. The cartoonist has Queen Victoria awarding Lord Derby, Tory Prime Minister from 20 February 1858 to 11 June 1859, the Order of the Garter. This cartoon appeared less than two weeks after the end of Derby’s run as Prime Minister.
