“The Rev. Dr. Hermann Adler,” the son of England's chief rabbi, “then and still minister of the Bayswater Synagogue” took on the "more active portions of his [aged father’s] duties. Dr. Adler, jun., has proved an exceedingly capable administrator. Besides actively interesting himself in every branch of communal work, he wields a ready pen, both in controversy and exposition, has published a large number of sermons, and a few theological and historical essays, and has contributed to the magazines” (604).
