Wilfred Blunt, who comments that on his return from Rome Watts shaved his moustache and beard, also mentions a full-length portrait of Watts by this miniaturist (50). In this portrait Watts stands thoughtfully before a frieze, presumably of the Elgin Marbles, and gazes down at a drawing.
