E. Onslow Ford, R. A.
Wolfram Onslow Ford
1851
Oil on canvas
The Studio, 25 (1903): 57
The Studio caption reads as follows: “The Late E. Onslow Ford, R.A. from the portrait by his son, Wolfram Onslow Ford.”
The sculptor sits in his studio holding a reproduction of van Eyck's extraordinarily influential Arnolfini Portrait (image) in London's National Gallery. In the background a mirror similar to the one in the van Eyck appears as do several of his larger works.
