Following the cataloguing and conservation of the largest collection of drawings by Frederic, Lord Leighton this one-day conference will allow for a new, broader interpretation of Leighton's work as a draughtsman. The status of drawing in Victorian art and the drawings, working methods and training of Leighton and contemporaries (such as Burne-Jones, Ingres and Albert Moore) will be explored by some of the leading experts in the field including Robyn Asleson, Barbara Bryant, Christopher Newall, Martin Postle, William Vaughan and Stephen Wildman.

The conference will be followed by a private view of the exhibition "A Victorian Master: Drawings by Frederic, Lord Leighton" put on at Leighton House Museum [Review of the exhibition when shown in Glasgow]. The ticket price includes lunch and all refreshments. Booking is required.
