Another of Clausen's paintings from Cookham Dean, Berkshire, where the Clausen family lived from 1885-91. According to the gallery label of February 2016, "[t]he delicate play of light across the model’s features, together with the flicked brushwork in the background, suggest both the freshness and transience of youth."
