Early Morning, Venetian Lagoons by Wilfrid Ball, RBA, RE (1853-1917). Before 1917. Watercolour illustrated in Hind, facing p. 154. By courtest of George N. Stevens, Esq. Although Ball was preeminently and "essentially the painter of the English Village" (Hind 160), he also showed work from abroad, and both wrote about and illustrated a sketching tour of Venice. He received a Bronze Medal in Paris for one of his etchings of the city.
