ichael Statham is a retired environmental scientist who now spends his time on various research projects including the history of Insole Court and the Insole family and mining and quarrying in Wales.
Michael has contributed previous articles for Morgannwg (the journal of the Glamorgan History Society) on Penarth Alabaster and Radyr Stone, with one on the life of Alan Insole in press. Other publications include his book entitled Penarth Alabaster, and articles for Ecclesiology Today; The Journal of Co-operative Studies; The Northern Mine Research Society; The Welsh Stone Forum Newsletters, The Welsh Mines Society Newsletters, The Society for the History of Natural History Newsletter, The Gelligaer Historical Society, The South Wales Caving Club 75th Anniversary Publication; and the websites of the Church Monuments Society, Parks and Gardens, and historypoints.org.
