J. A. Salmonson Jessica Amanda Salmonson, scholar, book dealer, and novelist, is the author of the famed Tomoe Gozen trilogy, which tells the heroic and tragic tale of Japan's legendary female samauri. Salmonson is the recipient of the World Fantasy Award, Lambda Award, and ReaderCon Award -- this last for her work as a researcher and editor of fantastic and weird literatures.

Her current activities include running Violet Books and editing "historically significant authors of supernatural tales, providing signal bibliobiographical essays for each book."
