. c.1938. Pulluvila is a fishing village on the South Indian coast about 15 miles from central Thiruvananthapuram. The tenure of the first parish priest, Rev. Fr. A K Fernandez, is given as 1919-22 ("Our Priests"), but this large Gothic-style "new church" was built with funds sent back from residents who migrated from Pulluvila to Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in the early twentieth century (see Devika 13, n.9). The church belongs to the Latin Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram, following the Latin liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church.
