The British Officers of the 16th Bengal Lancers. 1901. “The 16th Bengal Lancers form [a] portion of the Cavalry Brigade proceeding to China from India. This regiment is composed of Sikhs, Dogras, and Jats, three of the best fighting races of India. The officers are in hteir frighting dress of khaki, which renders them almost indistinguishable from the men at a short distance.” Someone has written in pencil “BW Sept 22, 1900.” Source: New York Public Library [?].
