In his book on Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, late-Victorian England's most prominent painter of scenes from ancient Rome, Barrow reproduces this identical plate, which his caption describes as "Men's Apodyterium, Stabian Baths, Pompeii" (p. 193) and a copy of which is at the University of Birmingham (UK).
