St Edward the Confessor, Romford, Essex

This window in St Edward the Confessor is the second of two Victorian ones on the south wall, after the Lady Chapel. The two lower angels, floating on pink clouds, gaze down on the transformed Christ, who is surrounded by golden light. Moses, with the Commandments, and Elijah are seen either side. On the ground, the disciples Peter, James and John are praying, one of them shielding his eyes from the brilliant light. [Commentary continues below.]
