Georgie Gaskin

Engraving by an unknown engraver

Poppies provide the motif here for an older child, with hair drawn back in a little bun, and one leg crossed over the other. She has moved on to the third and fourth letters of the alphabet on her hornbook. In fact, she holds it now as if she was reading an actual book, and seems absorbed in it. This is the second of Gaskin's four very attractive Arts and Crafts designs here, based on the seasons.
