This is Rossetti’s complex, opening visual spread for his sister Christina’s second collection of poems, which was engraved on wood by Linton and published by Macmillan in 1866. 150 x 190 mm. Rossetti took great pains with the preparation of these images, which were developed out of compositional drawings and detailed figure studies.
