Tazza is Italian for "cup," and according to Wikipedia, archeologists use the term to refer to a "shallow saucer-like dish either mounted on a stem and foot or foot alone." This photoengraving in The Magazine of Art, which sems to depict a flattened disk, makes difficult determining if this object fits that definition.
