Oval table, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1869-1928). 1902. 24 inches (61cm); length: 36 1/4 inches (92 cm); depth: 19 3/4 inches (50 cm). Lacquered white wood with leaded glass inserts. A similar table.was made for the Warndorfer Music Salon, Vienna. Roger Billcliffe suggests that this table may have been Mackintosh's own, made for the 1903 Moscow exhibition, arranged by Diaghilev. This conclusion is based on the fact that most of the other Mackintosh exhibits in Moscow were his own.

The Fine Art Society, London, has most generously given its permission to use information, images, and text from its catalogues in the Victorian Web. This generosity has led to the creation of hundreds and hundreds of the site's most valuable documents on painting, drawing, sculpture, furniture, textiles, ceramics, glass, metalwork, and the people who created them. The copyright on text and images from their catalogues remains, of course, with the Fine Art Society. [GPL]
