Embroidery on two banners, one showing a youthful St Michael with splendid wings and a St George's cross (the two saints are often conflated) and a grotequely contorted, fire-breathing dragon; the other showing St Alban in a Roman toga and sandals, at St Augustine's Church, Kilburn, London NW6. Here were powerful symbols for the youth of the day to emulate, both vividly portryed in striking poses. One suggests triumph over evil, the other, self-sacrifice even unto death.
