William De Morgan has always occupied a special place in the history of British art pottery. His work is revered today by collectors and, produced over three decades, his tiles, vases and chargers are included in museums and art galleries around the world.

This curated exhibition celebrates the creations of William De Morgan, from a simple foliate BBB tile used as a repeat in the cast iron fireplaces of Barnard, Bishop & Barnard to the larger, unique vases and chargers held in private collections. With over 140 pieces of De Morgan it is the largest exhibition of his work in recent years.

Also on display at the exhibition will be an important group of William Morris tiles from the Richard & Hilary Myers collection (to be auctioned in June) and works by De Morgan’s contemporaries including Maw & Co., John Pearson, Carter's and Bushey Heath Pottery.

Note

A private lecture is scheduled for 12 noon, Friday 22 May 2026, at which attendees will be given an advance view of the exhibition. Please contact Michael Jeffrey at michael@kinghamsauctioneers.com if you would like to attend or have any questions about the exhibition. A catalogue is also available.
