Cloth binding for ‘The Ivy’

1872

Green cloth gilt

8 x 6¼ inches ,/p.

An unsigned cover of gilt laid on green cloth depicting animated ivy leaves and stems; it is quite unlike any others in the period. This luxurious text-book also has 4 chromolithographic illustrations by an unknown hand, who may have designed the binding too. One of the rarest books of the period.
