Cloth binding for ‘Robinson Crusoe’
John Leighton
1864
Cloth binding
Signed
This narrative scene in gilt on blue pebble cloth shows Robinson and Friday after a hunting spree. The style is very much in the figurative manner of Leighton’s earlier work of the 1850s, and may be a reprint of a book first issued in 1850. The volume is illustrated by Phiz [Hablôt Knight Browne].
