Binding for “The Life of Christ as Represented in Art”

A. A. Turbayne, designer

1894

Elaborate gilt blocking on blue cloth.

9 x 6 inches

This elegant design represents Turbayne’s capacity, in the manner of Art Nouveau, to combine naturalistic details and severe abstraction. It is likely that he designed the lettering as well. His monogram is positioned in the bottom left hand corner.
