The East Window and Altar

Stained Glass designed by Edward Burne-Jones and manufactured by William Morris & Co.

Holy Trinity Church

1890

Sloane Street, London SW1.

According to the Guide, "it is probable that William Moris himself designed the foliage and background and one of the figures (St Bartholomew). The forty-eight figures show Apostles, Patriarchs, Kings, Prophets, and Saints. The Tracery above shows Angels, works of charity; the Fall, Crucifixion, and Anunnciation; and at the top, the Nativity. This is the largest window ever made by the Morris firm and it ontains the largest number of single figure and subjects" (4).
