Prior Park Landscape Garden (outside Bath) This famous eighteenth-century garden was designed for Ralph Allen, a friend of Henry Fielding, with advice from Alexander Pope and "Capability" Brown. According to the National Trust website, "the garden is set in a sweeping valley with magnificent views of the City of Bath. The many interesting features include a Palladian bridge and three lakes. The Wilderness Project, the final phase of the restoration of this sustainably managed garden, will reinstate the Serpentine Lake, Gothic Temple, Grass Cabinet and Mrs Allen's Grotto." One can see the Palladian Bridge at the center of the photograph immediately before the lake. Bath appears in the background.
