Madras Cathedral

Madras Cathedral

Col. J. L. Caldwell and Captain De Havilland

1815

Madras (Chennai), India

The East India Company's Senior Engineer Col. J. L. Caldwell designed the church, and his assistant Captain De Havilland finished the construction. Perhaps second only to St Thomas Cathedral in Bombay (Mumbai), Madras Cathedral has a superbly preserved collection of memorial plaques and monuments.
