In 1886-7 a large block of buildings was erected to the west of the older house ; and on October 20lh, 1894, extensive new buildings were opened, when the institution, hitherto known as Somerville Hall, formally assumed the title and dignity of a "College." Considerable additions are now in progress, which will provide a Library to contain 30,000 volumes, and other accommodation. Mr. Basil Champneys is the architect” (93).
