Sir Joseph Bazalgette's Mausoleum

Churchyard, St. Mary's

Wimbledon, London

This "splendid neo-classical" mausoleum (Smith) is right at the east end of St Mary's graveyard. It looks as solid as the Embankment itself. The close-up is of the top part of the inscription only. It shows just the first three family members buried here (Sir Joseph, his wife Maria and one of their six sons, Norman, whose MA is proudly noted).
