"A standing nude figure of a boy, holding a stick in his right hand and a snake in his left, standing on a globe.

"A version of this bronze was exhibited at the St. Louis International Exhibition of 1904, catalogue no. 207. John also produced a very sirnilar figure entitled Joyance illustrated in the catalogue of the Goscombe lohn Exhibition, National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, 1979, no. 55. Goscombe John was the most distinguished of all Welsh l9th century artists, and a large number of his works can be seen in the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff" [Shepherd Gallery catalogue].
