Portland stone statue on coarse gritstone column: Height of column, 134 feet; statue 13 feet. The view up Grey Street takes in the porticos of the Theatre Royal, designed by John and Benjamin Green, opened 1837. Interior redesigned after fire by Frank Matcham, 1900-01.
