Guard: — “Yes, Sir, I’ve seen your luggage in, It’s all right, and I’ve got a smoking-carriage you can have all to yourself, Sir.”
Gentleman: — “Oh, that’s well! Any change?”
Guard: — “Well, no, Sir, I don’t think I have, but I’ll get you some, Sir.”
More puns: The passenger wants to know if he has to change trains at any point during the journey, but the guard, possibly expecting a tip for all he has done for him, responds as if the passenger has asked for change for a bill or large coin. — George P. Landow
