This periodical makes frequent use multiple images on a single page, not all of which like this one are pioneering late-nineteenth-century comic strips. Other uses of the multi-image page often take the form of a collection of separate images on the same page without narrative, such as the often delightful “Six Degrees” feature, or pages that present one large cartoon in an upper quadrant drawn in a detailed, realistic style accompanied by a series of smaller images often drawn in a different style.
