Adrian Lipscomb BA, LLB (Hons), FRGS, Simpson's great grandson, worked in the 1980s for the Australian Department of Defence in Canberra as a Policy Analyst and Intelligence Officer. He later became a freelance travel writer and tourism planning consultant; in 1994-6 he was Tourism Advisor to the Western Province of the Solomon Islands; in 1997 he lectured in Tourism at Southern Cross University in Coffs Harbour, NSW; and in 1998 he researched and wrote the Lonely Planet Guide to Papua New Guinea. He presently lives in Bellingen, Australia, and practises law -- primarily in criminal and civil litigation.
