This window is the closest to the chancel of the three original windows in the north wall of St Edward the Confessor's. Musician angels look down from the tracery on the episodes surrounding the Resurrection: Mary Magdalene's encounter with Jesus in the garden, Jesus breaking bread with the disciples at Emmaus, and Jesus appearing to the astonished disciples by the seashore. The window was installed as a memorial to Alfred Henry Hunt (1831-93), whose name is under the middle panel. The church website tells us that the Hunt family had been "solicitors in the town since 1794." Windows east of the south entrance are attributed to the firm of Lavers & Barraud (Cherry et al. 191), when Nathaniel Westlake was chief designer and partner, and this one dates from the same period (early 1890s) as the two easternmost windows in the south aisle.
