Alfred Webster

1911

New Kilpatrick Parish Church

Bearsden

This window is based on a design produced by Alf Webster for the 1911 Scottish Exhibition. Christ holds a cup on which a Latin text states: “[my] blood is life.” The window was fabricated posthumously by Webster’s assistant Douglas Hamilton working in the Stephen Adam Studio. A regularity of the painting of the face distinguishes it from Webster’s own style. Jeanie Scott, 35 years a school teacher in the Woodside Pubic School, Glasgow, is honored in the inscription.
