One of the west windows in the welcome area

C. E. Moore

c. 1942

St Martin's, Hale Gardens, West Acton

This lovely window, referring to Simeon's "Nunc Dimittis" ("Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation," Luke 2, 29-32) was dedicated to members of the Dicker family, whose descendants recently returned to see it (see Davis 6-7). The one mentioned last in the inscription at the foot of the window was an officer in the RAF, a pilot who died in the war in 1942.
