The hunter

The hunter

W. R. Tymms

Designed by Florence Lacomb and chromolithographed by W R Tymms

9½ x 7½ inches

Florence Lacomb, Indian Fables.

The illustration shows the hunter’s misfortune as he is ‘gored’ by a boar. Tymms gives the naïve drawing intensity by using limited colours and recreating its detail. The exactitude of his work, with all of the colours in exact register inside the lithographic lines, is impressive.
