Matthew Digby Wyatt, The History, Theory, and Practice of Illuminating, plate 1.

This book is a condensed version of the earlier Art of Illuminating (1859). Tymms provides a series of chromolithographic versions of illuminated manuscripts, which he copied from volumes in the British Museum. The illustration shown here exemplifies his work as an antiquarian.
