Thomas Robert Macquoid
Green cloth binding with gilt overlays
9 x 6½ inches
Another of Macquoid’s elegant interlaces, animating the surface of the upper board with swirling tendrils. This is one of several variant bindings – another version was published with a design by W H Rogers (Bell & Daldy, 1856) and a later one (Ward, Lock, & Tyler, circa 1868), by an anonymous hand.
