Binding for “Ormond”

A. A. Turbayne, designer

1895

Elaborate gilt blocking on blue cloth.

7¼ x 4¾ inches

Another dynamic design, made up of radiating, foliate arabesques which produces a sort of metallic effect, with the gilt overlays acting as the gold of Art Nouveau jewellery – a form of design that had a strong influence on Turbayne’s book covers.
