Morris's Red House

Bexleyheath, Greater London

The brickwork supporting the oriel is a novel feature here. Inside, "the bay catches the best of the afternoon sun" (Red House 19). Next to it, the massive rubbed red-brick fireplace with rounded corners is one of Webb's "complex essays in exposed red brickwork" (Red House 6).
