Salisbury Green. This ornate building was originally constructed for an Edinburgh merchant, Alexander Scott in the 1780s and remodelled in the Scottish Baronial style between 1860 and 1867 by John Lessels for the publisher William Nelson (1816-67); it later served as a student residence and since 2006 has been the Salisbury Green Hotel and Conference Center.
